My Two Passions

Tonight two passions in my life came together. You may not know this, but handcrafting candles is not my full time career. I make and fit Custom Artificial Eyes for those in need. These patients have unfortunately lost their eye or sight for many different reasons, but my mission is to help people feel better about themselves again. This career has always been very important and meaningful to me. Like everything in my life, I put all of my heart into what I do. I feel my patients deserve that much. I am not alone in this mission to help others. I am a member of a beautiful group of people called The American Society Of Ocularist. We come together two times a year with Doctors to discuss, teach, and grow in efforts to be the best we can be for our patients. Tonight Calma Eleganza Candle Co was part of an auction to help rase money for the collage of Ocularistry. This collage teaches others our craft and helps them to become Board Certified in our field as so many of us are. I was excited to be a part of this, and to see some excitement and support for my candle. I hope the winner truly enjoys her candle as much as I did making it. I would never have thought my two passions would come together. But with such a wonderfully supportive group of people, I see many more auctions in Calma Eleganza's future.
